The change we want
Affordable, inclusive and sustainable homes and land use for communities across Europe. We want Community Land Trusts to be recognised as a proven way to get there, and we support them to grow and maximise their long-term social and environmental impact.
How we make that happen
As the voice of CLTs in Europe, we bridge the gap between local action and systemic change. Through EU-level advocacy, research, and innovation, we are building the evidence for CLTs to be recognised as viable models in mainstream housing policy.
Our areas of work
We work with partners in the built environment sector to adopt approaches that support community-led, sustainable and affordable housing development, and help them build partnerships with CLTs to design and deliver projects.
Changing market practice
We work with policymakers to create a supportive environment for CLTs, advocating for legal and regulatory reforms and better access to financing.

In England and Wales, 186 CLT partnership projects are completed or underway. ©Aster Homes UKMany European CLTs are delivered through partnerships with governments, cities, housing associations and increasingly with developers.
We’re launching a new network of industry partners for community-led housing delivery in the UK & the Netherlands.
Establishing the evidence base for European CLTs
In 2025, we published the first-ever comprehensive study to quantify the strategies, and economic, social and environmental impacts of CLTs across the continent.
Coalition leadership: the European Alliance for Collaborative Housing
The Alliance met for the first time in February 2026, which led to the Alliance’s recognition on EU-level.As a lead partner in the Alliance, we work with European institutions to elevate CLTs, housing cooperatives and allied organisations within the European policy agenda and advocate for favorable regulatory environments with dedicated funding streams.
